Graphic artist, graphic designer, mac operator, typesetter, illustrator. These are some of the different types of graphic design. I love them all.
However, my favourite style is layout. Traditionally referred to as desktop publishing. This skill focuses on the technical side of layout and print production. Specialising in the visual structure of multi-page documents like magazines, books, reports, memoirs, maps, catalogues and newspapers, to name but a few.
I really enjoy the process of helping someone put together their family stories. Or the design of a poetry book, to share with only the closest friends or the world. The publishing of a children's book about a Camel was a series of watercolour images someone had painted, turned into a sweet story about a Camel . There are no limits when it come to desktop publishing. Every story / publication is unique.
